Just picked up a Savage 10BA in .308 Win from LeBaron *** UPDATED PICS ***

It took 40 rounds and a lot of dicking around at the range today to get her sighted in. LeBaron told me that they laser bore-sighted it and that it should "get you on paper"... yeah right!

Anyway, I ran out of ammo for the fun stuff, as I just had enough to get her dialed in. Next time I will post photos of my groupings.

I got my hands on one at work today... but chambered in the 338 lapua... took forever to see one up close and personal. I loved the tacticool looks but found the LOP to be short for me, even with the stock extended out to the max.

Wow, you must have long arms. I find the LOP on mine perfect, without fully extending the buttstock. The 338 is a sweet calibre... just too expensive for me to feed.

Out of curiosity, why would they put a muzzle brake on a 308 win chambered rifle that weighs 13 pounds?

Seems kind of silly, the reason I don't do Tacticool.

This toy IS tactical, and nothing about it is "tacticool". The 308 still provides quite a bit of kick and the muzzle brake definitely helps to moderate that recoil, and allows for quicker and more composed follow-up shots. And I wish it were only 13lbs! With the 6500 scope and Burris "light weight" bipod and a full 10-round mag of ammo this sucker is a beast and I won't be toting her around the bush anytime soon ! :)

'bout a year and a half ago i email Savage asking if there were any plans on bringing the exact same thing out in .223 . They said there was talk of it but i haven't heard a thing since . Has anyone ? I like it but don't need another .308 . Great pics .

nope all gone. I paid $1549+gst in February

Thanks . For that price i'd get another .308 . I like the look and from reports read it shoots as well as my other .308's . I know a young guy that bought one in Saskatchewan and topped it with a Sightron and according to him he was scaring gophers at 600 yards and managed to nail a few . If anyone knows or hears of another at that price i'd appreciate a pm . Thanks Guys .

I think Montreal LeBaron has one left and everything is 15% off (with a membership card) in June, so you can fully kit it out, and get 15% off everything.

U guys think this gun has a fair bit of recoil? Ur Nuckin Futs! I was amazed at how soft it feels. It has like no kick at all compared my .270 or .300 win mag even. I had never shot a gun with a muzzle break b4. But man do they work wonders. If it wasnt so damn expensive id throw one on all of my guns. Just mounted a sightron 8-32x56 on mine but magnumpeanut is currently in possession of it and creating a handload for me. Maybe I can get him to post a range report.
