Just picked up a Stoeger Double Defense

I brought her home from Al Simmons this afternoon for a bday present for myself (I'm 29 today:rockOn:)

I really had no reason for another 12 gauge other the a range toy/zombie invasion decapitator so I though for this role the Double Defense is perfect.

The stock is just unfinished wood painted mat black. The fiber-optic bead is really sweet and all the rails are removable. I'll probably take off the top rail and keep the bottom rail for some kind of range toy in which I'm undecided. I have to admit I love the single trigger, its extremely quick and I find it intuitive to the double barrels.

I'm bringing a non-pal co-worker to the range on Sunday so I'll have a range report then.

Simmons is a bad place for that sort of thing, they always seem to have some new toy you don't really need but want when you see it. My last one was a Norinco 12 gauge trench gun. I looked at that double defense too, thought it might get the old boys attention at the next sporting clays shoot!
 
Had my hand on one today at work , i must say i was very unimprest, even for stoger i was hopign to see it a little more.
Even the rails was cast and powder coated!!
