Just picked up my first 10/22!

Well I have been looking at .22 rifles for a month now and finally went and picked up a ruger 10/22 Deluxe. Hopefuly I will be off to the range this weekend to run somerounds through it. I had narrowed my choice down to the 10/22 or the Marlin 60 series. Ended up with a 10/22 as it has the magazine and as a buddy pointed out yesterday, the tube mag is a pain to empty when hunting and getting in and out of vehicles alot. My son will be using this rifle in a couple of years when I go for Deer/Moose, he can get the chickens witht he 10/22.

use high velocity rounds for breakin. lets see how much you spend in the next year on upgrades. there fun toys and very adictive.
 
just bought another one a few months ago...everytime I take a noob shhoting it turns out to be their fav. out of my collection...go figure! Its just a fun little gun!

Congratulations. I bought one 6 months ago,a deluxe. Love it except for action lock.Kind of tricky. But very accurate,smooth and accessories are plentyfull. Have fun

Hey Norincoman I grew up in Beaumont.. I lived on 49st a block from the Church and Post office. Did you grow up in town as well?
 
Norincoman, I just moved to Edmonton from Beaumont a couple years ago. Spent 10 years on 44th street near Beau Meadow school, and the rest of my time there on 56th and 56th near the IGA :p
 
I love mine. It started as a standard...(in 97!) but just for fun I bought a Butler Creek Carbon fiber combo. (18" .920" carbon fiber barrel w/ syn stock.) Topped it off with a Bushnell "Trophy" red dot. That was back in 2000. This set up weighs about 5lbs loaded, and is my favoured grouse gun to this day! No regrets! I'd buy another one in a second! :D :D ;)

No grew up in Leduc, Know a couple of guys that grew up in Beaumont though. Great town. I am just down the hill from the church, west side of 50 street by where the side walk cuts through to 51 street.
