I decided I'm going to set up a little range in the basement for some airgun shooting.

I went with a Baikal IZH 53M Air pistol, its a break action so I don't have to worry about cO2 and the velocity is around the 400fps mark so its about right for the basement.

I have my dad's old Crosman 38c (requires cO2) to go along with it as well.

I think I'm just going to use a thick blanket drapped over my power rack for a backstop. Now I have to print off some osama/zombie targets.

Anyone else doing the same?

That's funny, because I'm doing the exact same thing. I have a Powertec rack at one end of the basement. I'm going to put the long bar on the highest holes and drape a tarp over it. I've tested my under 495 fps pellet guns on the canvas tarp, and it stops them fine.

I used to shoot air guns in the basement when I was young. We got some great competitions going, passing the pistol back and forth. Gamo had some cool targets with progressively smaller ballons printed on a card. Like playing darts.

I have the same air pistol for the same reason. It's no one holer (at least with old shakey here shooting) but it's a lot of fun. I had to modifiy the front sight a bit to get it to print to POA on mine.

I just took a cardboard box, put 2 pieces of carpet in it and staple my targets to the side of the box. Works great.

My first set of groups shot with the Baikal springer with bulk Crosman hunting pellets.

My best grouping was 1 inch (top left) at 10 meters. My works was 2.75
