I am so excited, I just had to show and tell. By the way there is nothing wrong with norinco this just isn't one.

If you haven't guessed or if you have never seen one it is a smith and wesson 52-2 in .38 special wadcutter

Arguably one of the most accurate semi-auto pistols ever made. Each one was produced with custom shop care and attention, wasn't allowed out of the factory unless it shot between a 2 and 2 1/4" group at 50 yards.

I can't wait to try it out, and the trigger is absolutely ridiculus. You start squeezing it getting ready to pull the trigger and it has already gone off. It is very very light, unbelievable really. especially to a noob like me who has only shot mk III luger, s&w 686, cz-75, and a s&w 41

Anyways I am really excited.

Enjoy the photos, the blueing is in execellent condition its just the flash and the finger prints all over it, it looks great in person.

Were people tellin you to buy a Norc as a first handgun?

Honestly, my first handgun was a m213 from CanAm, but I only bought it because it was cheap. I upgraded very soon after that :)

I was recommended everything under the sun. But this is what I am getting Ive now got the 52-2 and I'm going to get a cz in 9mm and a friend has a nearly new buckmark with target sights and slab barrel. So I will get that and I also want a sig and a glock but that's probably for next year.

Hmmm, too bad it's not a Glock.

I jest, of course.

Nice looking pistol and quite the piece for your first.

Let the addiction begin!

Cheers

I heard Norinco was cloning those already.

They're coming on the slowboat with the next shipment of NP-29's.... ;) :p

NAA.

That's a nice looking pistol! My dad has a Smith & Wesson Model 639 9mm in stainless steel (which I always borrow to take to the range). I'm hoping he'll transfer it to me one day! I love the classic look of the 1st generation Smith & Wesson semi-autos. Enjoy!

Very, very nice pistol and great choice! FWIW, I just sold my only Norc. Never owned one so I had to buy one to check it out 'close and personal'. Not as nicely finished in terms of machining/edges as my Dan Wesson or Wilson Combat and it's accuracy and reliability surprised me! Really nothing wrong with the Norc 1911 Police (can't speak for the other models as I never owned/handled any). I was going to use the Norc as a base for an uber super custom pistol but all that went out the door when I got my Wilson.

BTW, my first handgun was a S&W 686 'Classic Hunter' which I still own.....:)

That's an interesting choice for a first pistol. Is .38 wadcutter ammo readily available in your area, or do you plan to load your own?

I've been shooting for, let's see - 35 years, that gun has been on my "try it or buy it" list since I was about 12, so 30 years (give or take :D ) still haven't shot one, still haven't owned one and you got it first time. Great choice. Shooting wadcutters is incredibly cheap and you'll build great accuracy habits (sadly though, you'll never be able to blame the gun). If you buy factory ammo, you'll have a coronary however - so reloading needs to become a priority, if it isn't already. Again, great choice

Yes!
It was on my list and has been crossed off.
mags are hard to come by and $$$$
3.0gr w231 with precision delta bullets I was at 3.1gr but after a ransom rest test 3.0gr pulled the group in by 2-3" at 50m

You will love it and watch that trigger there soft
