Just got my PAL monday :D

I bought a Savage Mk2 F and want to put a hawke sport hd scope on it.

The gun doesnt come with scope mounts, but it is tapped for them. I've searched and found a couple of Weaver mounts that will work. Weaver #16

and Weaver #24.

Weavers website calls for the #16, but another website (midway USA) calls for the #24 and there's reviews for both saying they both work well on the savage mk2.

I'm just wondering what the difference is? (and i don't want a one piece tactical looking mount)

thanks!

Looking at the photos, the countersinking appears to be different in the two mounts. Perhaps there is a difference in the overall thickness of the mount, or the length of screws needed?

Pick the mount with the correct height, that will allow your scope to sit as low as possible on the rifle, with your chosen scope rings. Every scope is different.

Note that you must have clearance between the eyepiece bell and the bolt handle when you #### the bolt.

As well, see if you got your desired clearance between the objective (front) bell and the barrel.

Yep! Looks great (like the boyds stock too) What size objective is that? and what rings are you using? Thats the same styling i was looking at.

Its a 40mm I think. The scope is from one of my axis combo rifles. The rings are burris zee rings not sure what hight as I just said i needed rings and thats what wss gave me lol

thanks... I went to my local gun shop and they dont have #24's in stock but they did have #16's and they even had a used mk2 with them all ready mounted. They looked good too. Just lower profile.
