Just arrived in one piece! Looks awesome!!! very happy with the purchase and the wooden case isn't as bad as I thought. The pistol has never been fired, but most of the gold has rubbed off over the years (on the side with the battle scene), but the engraving is clean as is the blueing.

Does anyone know how I can get the gold etching refurbished on this pistol. It has rubbed off, especially on the battle scene side of the pistol. I have heard of rubbing gold leaf on the etching, but I don't want to do anything that will make matters worst. Perhaps someone out there knows who can do this type of work, especially in the Lower Mainland area. Any help in this restoration would be greatly appreciated.
