Just put my name down for an M305 at Marstar...

How much are they selling them for?

still listed at $399 . Mine cost $427 including delivery to my door .
you could if you are realy desperate buy the one on the ee "used" for $575.
or just hold on for a bit and get one with a guarantee . I was lucky , i made my enquiry about the last batch just as they came in , i got mine quite quick and apparently they sold out within a few days .
And my baby goes to the range every time i go ,
I just love it , and for the money you cant go wrong . I did put a scope on mine but took it off , i prefer to shoot without it . Incidently all you M305 fans out there , there is a 3 point scope mount on Ebay for 44 bucks . it is apparently aircraft Aluminum though . Just i prefer the classic look .

I've been on the list for these since Feb, I sure hope nothing goes wrong when they come in! I've contacted them three times by phone and been told "another month or two" every time. I also sent in a PM to John with my new address so here's hoping I end up owning one soon!

Just got an email from John. Shipment A delayed for months, already. Shipment B coming sometime this summer.

Damn... I am wishing to sign for one with both hands... but not to wait for months for a rifle I paid for...

The second boat looks promising. There is, after all, only a few weeks left in the summer. I can just imagine the second boat passing the first one somewhere around midway island...

Patience is a virtue ...
I put an add in the EE looking for a Chinese M-14, and got about a dozen or so replies. Thye are out there ...

VOO DOO MAN;
I'm sorry but we don't know exactly when....
Our April container now due in September....
Our June, & August containers, well your guess is as good as ours....
Delivery from that part of the world is slow at best....
John

At a certain point in your life [ usually right after that FIRST heart attack ] you realise that your time is worth more to you than money.

Think about this ...
do you have more fun shooting your guns, or counting your money??

SO,
You can wait around "a few months" for "your ship to come in" .... "well your guess is as good as ours"....
OR
you can advertise "M14 wanted" on the GunNutz EE.

So far this month,
I've picked up three "previously owned" Chinese M14s ...
two in trade, and one for cash.
All were fair deals ...
fair to me, and fair to the vendor.
No one got ripped off.

one M14 is unfired
one M14 has about 200 rds through it.
and one M14 has unknown round count, but it is as new

I might have paid just a wee bit more for them, but I have them NOW!!!

This morning I am off to the Victoria Fish & Game range to sight in my three new [ to me ] M-14 rifles.

So what are you doing with your $$$ today?
Taking it out for a walk?
Playing catch with it?
Hiding it under the mattress?
Waiting for your ship to come in?

Hey John, Yea I spoke with you on the subject........it wasnt really directed towards you, I just wanted to get this thread going again hehe!

You do your best like every one else, and its really not in your hands - Thanks for the help!

Yep, I asked our local guru this question, and he said you're fine if you stick to shooting 150gn.

And from this thread, I guess the range of bullets you can use is expanded up to 165gn.

.308 is fine, just stay within 165 grain. Going to 180 grain like I almost did could end up being dangerous or at the least ruining your rifle. Especially the soft-points. You're best bet is FMJ. As per these guys http://www.chestnutridge.com/images/inv/14AB01.asp
