Just put together my dedicated "Coyote Rifle".

Yes a varmint gun is fun ... the speed of the bullet makes it fun .... in manitouland island the yotes are all over and a problem this winter me and the .220 swift will be up there .....

Ya, this is my first one & my first impression is that I like the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD and really like the parallax adjustment on this model. (I have been a fan of the Elite 6500 series previously.)

Initially, I was thinking 3-12 or 4-16, but the Legend comes in 4.5-14 and the price point was right... So...

Cheers
Jay

I have the 3-9x40 and 3-9x50. I'll buy more for sure

My coyote gun is a 25/06. I hunt wolves as well

I envy you guys with your .22 varmint/deer calibers. Here in Alberta, minimum caliber for big game is .23 so they really are dedicated coyote rifles here!

Bump, anyone else looking forward to hunting some coyotes this winter?

Oh, and photobucket sucks, I had to refresh this thread with imgur images.

Cheers
Jay

Sapphires this year FLHTCUI, lol!

And I sold my e-caller, need one that is more cold tolerant... Argh

Toss in lithium batteries and see how it works. Mine will run in the cold for a lot longer with lithium instead of conventional. Still carry the handcalls cause me and technology have trust issues.

Nice rifle! Do you still have it? How has it stood up accuracy wise for the last couple years? I was out today with my Tikka 6.5CM, I ordered a new Tikka 243 but it hasn't come in yet. Got responses at two sets today, one a challenge bark and another howl response each at the end of the calling sequence and we were getting packed up to move on. We know they are there so we will give them a few days and maybe try them again. Good luck out there!

I just sighted in my rem 783 223 1 in 9 twist rifle with 55gr sgk hp. Its in a mdt lss chassis with a 4-14x56 nightforce in mdt rings. It turned out way heavier than i wanted but ill only be carrying in around a km most days so its no bother. Just need a sling. Ima load up some 40gr nosler varmeggeddons in the am to take to the range see how they do and see if i can bump the speed up. My barrel is only 16.5" saw a wolf today while deer hunting. Hoping to see him in my crosshairs in the coming weeks. He was big. Tracks bigger than may 180lb mastiffs and his pelt was prime. Never seen a tail so bushy.
Best of luck to all the yote hunters

Bump to say that I am still very happy with the Bushnell Legend Ultra HD 4.5-14x42 scope & mil-dot reticle.

Cheers
Jay

Ive sold all my rifles wearing the ultra hd scopes and my dad needed a new scope for his 300wm so he took my last one. All are still going strong. Ive since bought a bushnell forge 1-8×32 and an engage 1-4×20 both with illuminated center dot and g4 reticle. Im happy with both. The forge is close enough to my nightforce in clarity that its going to be very hard to choose the optic for my next varmint rifle
