As the title says :)

My wife was awesome, did some research and set me up with a Lee Load Master with dies for 44mag.. and tossed it all under the Christmas tree!
Pretty wild to unwrap that this year. I've got nothing to compare it to, but from what I can tell, it's a great press that's going to work well for years to come.

Just finished my first batch of reloaded ammo and super exited to go to the range tomorrow and try it out.
Wanted a big 44mag round.

Loaded 18.2 grains of H110 behind 300 grain hornady xtp

I think once I get these dialed in. I'll be loading some cheaper lighter loads for high volume range shooting.

Just felt like sharing that one more reloader has officially joined the ranks.

Quick photo of my set up while I was getting the dies dialed in. I threw some empty shells in for effect :)

Welcome to the lovely dark world of reloading. Soon the wife will be calling you up for dinner and you say you will be right there and poof hour or more later you are still at the bench. Cheaper? Per round sure but that means you can shoot more. Happy loading and keep it safe. Develop a process that works for you and stick to it always focus on the task.

Pretty awesome wife. Reloading in the beginning is pretty fun, and so is shooting a lot load more. But it gets expensive quickly, when you start hoarding powder and other components.. I have 20 pounds of powder on hand right now, had 24 at one point. about 5.5k primers, need more projectiles though.

Better start collecting lead then! Casting is the next logical step!!

Congratulations! Really awesome present for sure!
Take heed of what everyone is saying though. Reloading is a whole second hobby and can lead to things you never imagined.
Soon you will be loading everything you shoot. Then you will be casting for a bunch of stuff. Or obsessed over thousandths of an inch in seating depth and runout...

Next you will be looking at new guns in oddball calibers because you can load for it even though ammo is expensive or rare or completely unavailable. Custom dies and molds, forming brass, deciphering foreign websites trying to figure out dimensions and load data....

Welcome to the madness! Have fun shooting your new home rolled shells!

I thought I was the only one using google translate to decipher German and other European websites.....lol

Reloading became my main hobby almost 30 years ago, with shooting becoming secondary, haha.

Welcome! I too recently started reloading. What a fun and rewarding activity. I stared with 44 mag like you. Though, I bought a Lee Classic Turret Press. I am considering the LoadMaster now for some time.

Cheers!

P.S. Nice setup, bench, and grey cabinet, very clean!!

By the way, I have seen some videos on youtube that describe how to polish in internals (under the shell plate) of the Loadmaster. This appears to really smooth out the action and in turn increase reliability.

Wheel weights seem to be the most popular. As far as I'm concerned, every gun nut should collect lead and brass in every caliber. When you have a 100 pieces of one caliber, it pretty much justifies a new gun in that caliber.

Wheel weights and plumbing lead are my sources of lead. If I follow your logic concerning collected brass and I do, I need at least an other half dozen firearms.

Welcome! I started in the early 1970's with a Lee Loader (the kind in a little box that you use a hammer with) in 30-30. Much pleasure can be had from reloading.

Congrats! What a great Christmas gift! A friend got me into reloading. He gave me his old Lee turret press pivot bolt was broken and the handle was bent. 10 min of scrounging around the shop at work and a hammer everything was fixed. Now my girlfriend just makes snide remarks when I head to the basement "Going to play with your bullets again? How can you enjoy that?" lol.
