I'm planning on pickin up a Jrc for myself for Xmas. I deserve it I've been good enough. However I am stuck about what caliber to get. 9mm or 40 SW. I will probably buy the conversion eventually when they're back in stock. The 40 spits a bigger heavier bullet making it useful for calling coyotes and wolves in thick timber where several could appear at once all in close range. Either could be used for grouse and rabbits. The 9 mm makes more sense because I have a 9 mm pistol as well so I could stock up on bulk ammo for plinking. 40 SW isn't that much more though.
So before I flip a coin I thought I'd ask here for opinions first. With the possibility of hunting small game up to coyote an wolf for 1 or 2 weeks a year what caliber would you choose 9mm or 40 SW?
It will NOT be used for deer. All shots will be under 50 yards. Most likely 30 or less
