Did a course with three gun and really liked it.Have a CZ pistol but had to borrow a shotgun and an AR to do the course.Great bunch of people had no problem lending me a firearm.So far bought a Remington 870 Tactical for a shotgun but would like to get a pistol caliber carbine in 9mm to simplify ammo requirements for rifle and pistol.Not too much out there.Been doing a bit of research and what does everybody think of JRC?I realize they had a few reliability problems in the first generation but I hear they got most bugs out of the gun now.

I spoke to a guy who had one at the range the other day. I asked him about all the issues I heard of, like feed problems, taking it apart...he shrugged and said never had those problems...it looked very nice. He had gone threw several hundred rounds. I was looking to buy a pistol caliber carabine recently but put it off for now. I decided that the TNW survival was a better buy for me though.

They're crap assembled with screws and have all sorts of issues
In my humble opinion, a more accurate name would be the "just all right" carbine. Not terribly impressed with the quality or reliability of them, but some folks like them a lot, probably the same guys who have not tried much else.

To the OP:
I have one, a gen I model in 9mm that I've fired 5000 rounds through, with regular cleaning after each shooting trip it should last you a very long time. 9mm is dirty ammo and will cake up if you don't take care of it. Buy one because it's a cheap alternative to an AR that you can take in the bush for cheap ammo plinking next to a .223 or 7.62x39
The Gen II models had the issues fixed and even come with a threaded barrel for muzzle brakes and etc...
It is a fun gun and with 10 round mags why not!
Like kaboose said, stay away from the .45 acp model
The guy at Bullseye Sports in London told me that if you have trouble with your Gen.1 Just Right will replace the action with a Gen. 2 no charge.Call them and ask but that's what he told me last Monday.

I watched the take down video and it seemed pretty straight forward.I repair vehicles on the side so I know a little about mechanisms.The three screws that hold the trigger group and mag to the receiver would be coated with anti-seize as would the front threaded install ring and rear install ring.The range clean-up (at lunch after 100 rounds or so)would be a tooth brush once over at the breech and a couple of bore snake pulls to keep the chamber clean.All in all from what I've observed even a $2000 AR-15 has to be clean and wet or it jams up with cheap ammo so no gun is immune from problems.This company is somewhat new but seem to be trying....
I am one of those guys that hasnt tried much else in a PCC, but then again my JRC seems to run really well so no need to try anything else.
To the OP, I like mine, and aside from a few stove pipes when I first got mine, it has run great and I dont clean it like a surgical tool after every outing, just a quick wipe down with an oily rag.

To the OP I had a 9mm version that ran well on all but 123gr Winchester ammo. (FTE was the issue with that particular ammo.), however with over #1,000Rds. of Sellier & Bellott 115gr FMJ fired it ran flawless and was a lot fun for myself and friends to shoot.

this is probably a first, but I have to totally agree with you on that one
I've had my JR for well over a year now. It has never misfired or jammed. it will do 2-3" groups out to 100 yards with my not-so-great barska 3-9 scope. I have it dressed up with some nice AR parts, so it looks like a big bad AR, but its non-restricted. take it anywhere and have some fun. I've shot winchester, remington, american eagle, sellier and even some surplus stuff - always goes bang.
I have a JRC in 40S&W and I like it, but for run n gun stuff like 3 Gun or IPSC I don't think I would ever use it for either. The lack of a last round hold open is a royal pain on fast reloads versus an AR. the 10 round pistol mags is a non-issue as AR's can use LAR or 50 Beo mags. Running a JRC pretty much determines which pistol you'll use if you want to share mags (eg glock). If you're getting something for competitive type stuff, it's going to be a range only gun anyways, so restricted is a moot point. Only advantage is that it's NR, so if that's important to you, go for it.
If you still want a pistol calibre rifle - perhaps there's a dedicated 9mm AR that would fit the bill a little better?

Honestly, I doubt JR will worry too much about serial numbers, and more about getting your rifle preforming and making you happy.
My .40 I think was an early one, had some issues, they replaced and upgraded a bunch of parts no charge to me - and I wasn't the original owner and had no proof of purchase or anything.
I did sell the rifle though and bought a mini14, as it's more practical for my situation.
I have one in .45 running on 1911 mags. No FTE or FTF, goes bang all time holds 3" at 100. The only thing i dislike is that it chewes most of the casings up pretty bad...i'm reloading (not those anymore). So if you don't reload,nothing wrong with the JR
