Just Right Carbines. Should be called PERFECT carbines. Exceptional Carbines?

Clearly a new gun owner getting excited about his new toy. Some of you guys...

Smokestack, I'm glad you're happy with your JR carbine. I know my buddy wasn't as happy with his 40s&w version. He eventually got it working well after a parts kit was sent to him from the manufacturer. By then he had a sour taste in his mouth and moved on.

I liked mine. I did sell it, but I thought it was good for what it is. A fun little plinker that is easily customizable. I always felt like its the 10/22 of the pistol carbine world. At least that's what I always related it to. It's no H&K, but for a lot of people it's "just right"

Have fun shooting!

I must have been really lucky with mine. I think with the total 4000 rounds through mine I have had maybe 5-10 stoppages (several stove pipes, 2 fail to fires and a few fail to extract). I see them as opportunity to practice malfunction drills! Other than those though it has run very well. Feeds any type of ammo I put through it, even steel cased and my hand loads. I had a buddy of mine build me a tool to get the barrel nut off lol. FREE! I usually clean it every 1000 rounds because it gets way to hard to work the changing handle. I have also decided to see how dirty it can get and still function properly. I'm t around 1200 rounds now.

I've been very lucky with mine too. I've run....6, 7000 rds through it, VERY few FTF/FTE (maybe a dozen total). As for lube, no half measures; either run it wet, or run it bone dry, just not in between...that just seems to be a muck magnet. Customer service is good, the one time I've contacted them. My firing pin spring was getting a bit sloppy, and I called to see if this was something reported often. My plan was to just order one; they're not expensive. I didn't get a chance to because they said that no, it wasn't a frequent problem by any means, but they were mailing me a spring & firing pin to replace it with.

I also have a Keltec S2K. It feels like it was made by Mattel ( I'm pretty sure the sights at least WERE made by them), It's about as ugly a gun as you can get without really going out of your way to MAKE it ugly, BUT; -it's crazy light. -it's crazy small - I use an Eberlstock scope cover as a carry bag for it. It's surprisingly and consistently accurate, even with the crappy sights, out to 100m. It eats EVERYTHING...doesn't care, doesn't matter what type of round, although if anything it likes hotter loads better. It's way more reliable than I ever expected it to be; I have not experienced a single FTF/FTE so far (closing on 1000 rds since new). It's a far better truck/survival/bash the crap out of it gun than the JRC is, and it's hella fun to shoot.
