Here are some other pictures for you fellas.
I was going through my photos and thought you might like to see some.
I'm also trying to get the battle rifles postings over the 1000 mark.....the battlerifles forum is second from the last in total postings?????

Here's a pic of some USGI mags.
from top down
#1 OM - Winchester
#2 Check-mate industries "restricted, law enforcement only"
#3 Atwood Vacuum and Machine
#4 UHC - Union Harvestor Company
UWRMH-IMG_3765.JPG

This is for a photo of 4 USGI followers that have been welded up like the Norc mag followers than restrict mags to 5 rounds. Who has the heart to drill and pin 35-50 year old mags???? Yes 50 years old, 2007 marks the 50th year for the '14 !!!!

I might even sell a few.

Here are 2 Smith Enterprise GI pieces
On the left is the Gas Lock Dovetail Sight - any standard GI type sight can be attached. This one is for short barrels (18 inch) the standard barrel (22in)lock is 4 mil shorter from barrel hole to bottom of dovetail.
On the right is the Gas Lock Navy Sight, also called the HK style sight
Markings are the old style

All the books I've loved before,
The green Scott Duff book is a must for every M14 shooter
Since this photo Lee Emerson (AKA Different) has published probably the most thurough M14 book. The "Last Steel Warrior" is another rehash of most of the books in the photo with a lot of newer information, IE all Smith Ents work with re-arming US forces in Iraq and the middle east.

Now for all you guys that tell me that your "gunsmith" tells you that the Norc barrels are too small in diameter to thread for a Vortex......get a better gunsmith!!!! sorry if that's a little obnoxious...but it's true.
The threads aren't 100% as tall as standard.....but I have tried to over torque a vortex onto this barrel.....to strip it....couldn't do it.
Top barrel Criterion 18.5,
Bottom 10 year old Norc cut down to 18.70 inches and re-threaded for GI DC Vortex

During the AWB (Assult Weapons ban) in the US my buddy in central Nevada became a bit of a magazine hoarder.
Some of these packages are 2 packs
DEBUE-mags.jpg

Here's a USGI flashider, with a Smith Ent DC vortex, the change over shortens the overall length 1.5 inches.
VRQUV-Picture.jpg

The "spoon" or mag charger as most call it, these are a great little item if you have scoped your M14. Since the scope requires you remove your stripper clip guide you can't top load an M-14. So....just place this little 'spoon' on top of you magazine, drop in a loaded stripper clip and puch the cartridges down. Not quite as needed here in Canada with our 5 round rull, but I still use mine at the range since I take 4 mags to the range.

This is a USGI supply tube that comes with 2 gas cylinders in it.
Markd "Olin Matheson Co" = Winchester

Re: Norinco barrel chop/re-thread for american flash hider: better be VERY careful and measure then think about the chinese barrel closely before attempting. I've personally witnessed two chop job/re-threads on chinese barrels that have resulted in the flash hider loosening and utimate thread stripping while trying to tighten back up. Measure your barrel carefully and compare to the US thread specs...there is enough variation in the OD of the chinese barrels (and ALL of them are of lesser diameter than an american made one) that some re-cut threads will have less than 30% engagement to the US flash hider threads....even when carefuly only cut to partial depth like the ones in GGFB's photograph above.

Your milage may vary....

Yes I should have said that.....we know the Chi-com rifles are not all the same.
This job is not for a rookie
But.....out of the ten barrels that I've measured, from old and new batches...they were within 15 thou

I knew I tool this photo for a reason.
This is Norc barrel diameter.

That Israeli front knob is an interesting idea, sort of reminds me of a Browning .30cal cocking handle. I wonder why they did it that way, except to clear some Jeezly-big piece of optics?

As I posted in another post, this is the Israeli bullpup.
The repositioning is needed for confort with this set up.

I really like it when it's installed on the sage, once again with the system being very compact, reaching over with the other hand is very natural.

Here's a close up of the rod in question, with 2 norcs, 1 poly and one SA Inc.

If its not too much trouble, would you mind taking a picture with said op-rod in the Sage?
