She's a Canadian proofed British Navy Mod92 dated 1917... partial walnut burl with an ebony tip ...

What's with the black forend tip? Is that a separate piece - not part of the forend?

Nice job. What is the plan for the metal?

That is an ebony 'sleeve' around the walnut magazine tube ... used some india ink to stain the walnut bit at the front so it's pretty much undetectable. sadly I cut through to some of the epoxy while shaping the tip - but it was mixed with black dye - so again, undetectable.

Probably leaving the metal as is ... I like the patina :)

-thanks

Thanks all! Got her back together & out to the range yesterday, I eyeballed the rear site location & took a brass punch & hammer with me expecting to have to adjust the sight.

seems like she's a bit of a shooter ~ no hammer needed!!

(the two groups of 5 (one on each target) were 2 different guys - the 3 at the top were "function tests")

Thanks All!!!

Got her all back together & the final (I think) coat of oil on - up beside another Mod.94 for a guy here on CGN done up in curly maple with an aniline dye treatment...
