Just somethin I been working on ~ Yes, I am still alive!!

What type of final finish is on the stainless Ruger.?? It has a shine but not gaudy like a Browning and yet still lets the full effect of the woods grain pop through. Very classy looking.

it's an aniline water dye color with (probably) 10 or so applications of tru oil then finished with a couple coats of wax polish.

Tight wood to metal in the tang area , like the forend.. the crome spacers are nice... mirror finish AAA craft manship sir.

Big fan of the ruger #1 .. and wood that is full of Rays..
Great lumber also

the spacers are actually stainless - thanks for noticing, they are there specifically to balance out the look :)

lots of movement in that piece of maple too - you just can't really get pictures of it :(

Pretty sweet Sean,
Enjoy the free time when you can ;)
How does it shoot?
** have you gone to advanced settings when trying to edit the title?
Best Regards,
Rob

Thanks :) I have an Ohio half stock about to kick off... and 2 winchesters - wait, no 3 winchesters ... and a Kimber something or other .. and still that trapdoor (I should really call that guy..) , and another jaeger ...I think free time is in my past :(

It was on paper from the first shot - started grouping well at 80FFg .490 hornady ball and 0.010" patch (lubed) - though I think that can be improved with an 0.015" patch. Very pleasant to shoot :) FAST lock :) there is video of in on facebook if you wanna track that down: https://www.facebook.com/kimballarms/

went to advanced .. it just added a title to the individual post, not the thread - tried the first post in the thread, same thing ??

Needs more smoke when you drop that flint Sean.
Very cool when seeing the fruits on ones labor !
Thanks for sharing the builds and continued success !
Rob

more smoke? you mean that or you jus funnin me? (that would have been the 100 grain loads ... lots of wind that day too so the smoke was gone pretty instantly.)
