I've had run-ins & little dust-ups with everything from weasels to red squirrels and black bears to moose, including pi--ed off racoons, a beaver and even a ground hog.
Some days the wildlife, like us, is just in a foul mood.
Only had to shoot (at) one ... a cow moose who was doing her best to intimidate me & a buddy and not let us pass down the trail. Early fall, no calf in sight.
Pierced her right ear with a nice round 44 mag. hole from the Ruger I was carrying back in to a a speckled trout lake for an over-nighter.
She swapped ends and was out of there in a hurry. Always had a rifle along for those trips back into the lake ... the resident bears always seemed to like
to visit the old cabin to see what the good smells were .... usually bacon, home fries & the days catch of speckies. They were generally less rambunctious
than that one moose ... a bit of yelling and pot banging and they were gone.
