Black gun lovers:

I just had to share this one with you. I just returned from the 24-25 ORA Service Rifle Championships in Connaught yesterday. "Kneeler" from this board travelled down from CFB North Bay to shoot in our match with his newly issued C7A2. :D

Nice OD colour. Sorry, I did not take any pictures and post them. But that new C79A2 Elcan sure looked purty.

20" Barrel had a screwed / bolted on rail accessory plate(s) by the front sight tower. Funky.

The OD coloured collapsible stock was texttured for a cheek weld. Nice touch. Tactical charging handle latch is gonna get caught in all your vests .... It's just a little bit smaller than that Badger Ordnance Tac Latch that REALLY gets hung up on all your kit.

Man, why didn't they come up with a folding stocked C1A1 when I was driving M113's in the battalion ? :x

Cheers,
Barney

I like them too! I got to shoot a 16" C7 at JDF range in SA and 3 round burst about 5 or 6 weeks ago... IT had a EOTEC 552 mounted to it. that thing was amazing

Looks like that, Actually the tac latch is larger then a badger, becuase I never had a problem with badger, I had ALOT of problems with the issued.

The Screw on mount on the front sight was the TRIAD Rail System its for mounting the Diemaco Light and IR laser.

The Ambi magrelease is the biggest piece of Crap.

No such thing called a 16" C7. C7's are 20", Its called a C8 here in Canada
BTW C8's are Semi/ Full, NOT 3 rd Burst. Not the ones I handled.

Long Lee,

I hear ya ! I was issued the SMG, but I never liked the 9mm even for personal defense. Even if I did not like the way the C1 pounded my fat face, I had the peace of mind that "7.62 goes through".

Now back to the C7A2.... Ambi mag release ? How come I missed that feature during my fondling moments ?

Sorry yes it was a C8 "pistol/ shortend rifle", it was a newly issued gun. It had no F/A on it, just the 3 round burst mode. forgot about the fact that C7's are F/A only.

Robert,

Diemaco makes diferent varients for different purchasers.
FWIW their are 16" C7A2's as while the upper maybe a C8FTHB/C8SFW, a lot of lowers are marked C7A2

The SMG sucked!!! I could pull my finger faster than it cycled!! The good old FN was awsome, although a folding stock would have looked cool!

But The CF the C7A2 is issued with a 20", See them trying to save money. About time they ditch the 20" barrel.

Robert --- NO.

The C7A2 in some units is issued with TWO uppers
1 x 20" Rifle w/ C79A2
1 x 16" Carbine - sometimes with EOTECH

KEYWORD SOME.....Not everybody has both uppers.

I know 2RCR diddn't have the C9A2, but the Van Dues had them. But theres were the early ones with the black car stock, shorter barrel, new sights, and the rail system.

Not all Units are the same.

What ever, I like what I shot ... weather it was a C7 with a C8 upper or a C8.. I liked the experience enought that I would like to buy an Armalite AR15 with a rail system   IF it were legal I would like the C8 but of course I can't because I am not military.
    :( :(
