Just when I thought I seen it all. Powder by the 6pk next

Sweet. I have always thought that they should have smaller sample packs of powder. Makes no sense to buy 7000 grains just to use 124 and then find out you don't like the powder.

Barnes also has sample packs of bullets, I think 10 in a pack.

Yeah I have a ####e-load of powder and bullets that didn't work in my guns - was thinking of making a bunch of smaller quantities of the powder and bullets and putting on EE for those trying load developments...
I am sure most of us reloaders have that issue of some stagnant components...like a pound of powder minus 20-30 loads.... or a box o bullets minus 10-20....

Just so no one gets too excited or riled up about this, the link above was posted on April 1st and is an April fools joke. They usually post a few hoax articles and this is one of them (refer to comments section).

Good catch. I missed the date totally Sorry GuysThen again smaller containers would be a good idea maybe not this small :)
Someone sure put a lot of effort into this joke

Too bad it's a joke. I agree, there are a few powders I'd like to try without having to buy a whole lb of the stuff to find out it doesn't work well in your guns.

Hodgdon sold 4 packs of 4 oz powders up until around 10 years ago. I agree that it was great from a consumer perspective, but not evidently from the manufacturer's perspective. We can speculate on why, but Hodgdon exists to provide value for their shareholders, not to serve the shooting public, and if something cannot be shown to positively affect profit, it's ripe to be discontinued.

The reason the mini 4 packs aren't around anymore is that nobody bought them. Buying a whole pound of powder just isn't that big of a commitment.

The guys that have lots of open cans and bullet boxes are usually the same guys who have a continuous stream of new rifles to try them in.
