so why it is so bloody hard to get any 37mm ammo here. i am not talking about HEAT rounds or bean bag rounds ! just empty cases and projectiles that Canadian legal (practice round and my favorite smoke round). finally, i would give up my left nut to get one of this ###y. The Milkor 37/38mm Multiple Anti Riot (MAR) (http://www.milkor.co.za/index.html) or even better, find someone in Canada who can built one under 2G.

+ 1 for adapter.. then buy all you want in 12gauge from Cdn Tire. I've had a Spikes Tactical 'Havoc' for a few years now... Never shot it, so I took it off my AR, and put it on the shelf next to my fake suppressor. I stick 'em on my SR-22 to entertain people, but thats about all they're good for. lol

There is much fun that can be had with these launchers.

Alas, little of it when they're actually attached to an AR.

As a FLARE LAUNCHER, they are not even a firearm.

I've got a small supply of cases for mine, and while I've got it lent out to a friend for the winter, I've had a bunch of fun with it.

There was a recepie for using 85mm aluminium cases, with some FFF black powder, and empty black/grey lid film cannisters. I found that to work quite well. Some roofer's chalk, a few washers in the cannister for weight, and they'd go out to about 150 meters with the right load.

As a stand-alone, I used it more often, as it was a bit of a pain to run on an AR.

I built my own stand-alone mount for it, and the photos of the various aspects of construction can be found here:

The project was not expensive material-wise, but I seem to recall it taking a considerable amount of patience/machine-time in my shop.

If I was to make another for someone else, (not offering) it would probably be in the $400+ range for the stand-alone system.

The original thread fromwhen I built it...

Took 20+ hours on the mill/lathe, plus the materials, plus the surface finishing. Figuring my time at $20/hr as a pre-apprentice/hobby machinist, plus $20 in materials, plus $50 for finishing, it'd be in the $470 range....if I was to build one for someone else.

Oh, and I even ended up numbering all the T-slots....just to be cool. :)

I regret selling my m203. The ammo is easy to find. Have some empty casings still left.
Launchers are fun as hell. I used to volley practice rds down to two hundred meters.
You can turn plastic umhw easy on a lathe and make a casing for any flare rd.

I understand the semantics behind the 40 & 37mm launchers, the M203 being 40mm and the non-firearm launchers being 37mm...

But you could have just as easily said nothing, versus pointing out facts you thought were being confused...

If M203's are available in Canada, where do you buy one..? How hard is that to answer...?
