Why buy Matel when you can still get live semi MG34's legally that still go bang?

I think a lot of it is resale value -or lack of. There was a guy from Toronto a while back that had a MG34 semi for sale here on the EE. Something like $2500-2700 and he threw in over $1000 of accessories (barrels, parts, etc...).
So he spend 4K + 1 K to 1.5 K ($5000 to $5500) to end up with 2.5 K in the end - lost half.

At least the Dewats just go up.
