Hey Hunters,

I was out front of my office having a smoke about 10 mins ago. I often look across the road onto the mountain side hoping to see coyotes, deer ect. Well today was my lucky day! Much to my surprise I witnessed a Juvenile cougar walking in plain view! It was about 150-200 yards away. At first I thought it was a lynx or bobcat but after googleing pictures, the tail was far too long. It looked to be about 40-50 lbs. All Tan colored with black on the tip of the tail. This is the first cougar I've ever seen besides the zoo. I was unable to get a picture of it as the sun was too much to overcome with an iphone camera. My question is: How many of you guys out there have come across juvenile cougars before? I would imagine seeing them randomly like this is fairly uncommon. P.S. I scanned the mountainside for the mother but she was MIA. Made for a pretty exciting morning on an otherwise uneventful day at the office! I know I will be flamed with the "without pictures it didn't happen" B.S. but you will just have to take my word for it.

There has been one hanging around the hills in Kamloops in the Westsyde, Bachelor
Heights area.
Parents were concerned as it was spotted up on the hills above Westmount Elemetary
on the first day school opening.
I could very well imagine all the kerfuffle and hoot'in, holler'in and yelling and screaming
those young kid's were doing alerted this frothy feline.
Curious to see the outcome of this kitty.

I was sure I had seen one in southern MB very close to civliization but your description would confirm for me. Indeed a rare sighting.

I would not even try to estimate how many hours I have spent in the woods in areas that are frequented by cougar.
I have often seen the tracks, but could count on the fingers of my hands the number of sightings I have experienced
