JW 103 Range Report

Got it really clean today

I took my bolt apart and would recommend that everyone do the same as the gunk was like glue in the spring and my bolt works much better now that it is clean and their is no brown sh:mad:t coming out of it anymore. Half a bottle of simple green and a toothbrush later it looks really good now. I don't think they have chrome bore so good cleaning will be required. I am going to try and bed it this weekend and then I am going to refinish the stock. I will let you know how it goes.

It's a nice gun, the trigger on mine is superb, the finish sucks, what I hate most is that the stock on mine is pretty nice but some a?&^%$hole drove the bolt into the wood when removing and carved a nice triangle in it. Not much love and passion.

Hi Guys.Took one of mine to the range yesterday.Using military ammo at 100 yds it was minute of moose ( about 2 to 3 inches and always a flyer or two. This was just a sight in and function test run other then the bolt being snug to close and open (once or twice a little to hard to open) things went well.

I would recommend, no tell you replace your scope bases with weaver or equivalent. As one of my previous post stated my weaver rings wouldn't clamp down on the factorybases also when I went to bore sight my other one there was no way things would line up.So I took my advice and replaced them on #2 as well(already bought them but was gonna give the Norc ones a try that weren't loose). On the old bases there was way too much slop in the bolt head counter sink. If I loosed the bolts I could get the norinco bases to move all over but not the weavers they were rigid even when the bolts/screws were loose(other then up and down of course)For rings I'm just using the Weaver Quad mounts only 22.00 here
Yes the triggers are nice just have to get use to tuning them and make up some mexican match ammo with some .310 or .311bullets.Later

Could you give a how to on how to take apart the bolt, I don't really want to mess anything up, would I have to check anything after I put it all back together?

To take the bolt apart:
1.Remove it from the rifle
2.Take out the screw (looks like a big set screw)from the bottom rear of the bolt.
3.Unscrew the rear portion of the bolt (the black piece that is machined on a angle)
4.Hold on as you get close to the end of the thread as there is still abit of tension from the firing pin spring.
5.Pull out the firing pin and spring
6.Clean everything you can see and reassemble. I use blue loctite on the screw when I'm done reassembling

I didn't do anything to the wood other then clean off the oil. It is definitely a very light colored wood under the stain. But I'm happy with the look of it other then the bad inletting at the rear of the action and under the action.

the workmanship on this rifle (inletting and scope base alignment) looks really lousy and not at all like executed by a professional (gunsmith).

Looks rather like it was put together by a village blacksmith...

This rifle is :puke:

I can't believe it worth 275$. The finish is awful. My 139$ Norinco SKS looks 10 times better and shoots similar groups

Wow, the finish on my M44 Mosin carbine is better then that and I'm pretty sure the factory was being bombed by the Germans at the time. :D

Methinks the dealer that is selling these rincos is charging too much.
