Hi there,
Just ordered myself a JW20 from cabelas a couple days ago and was wondering if anyone has firsthand knowledge regarding how picky these guys are when it comes to ammunition. I know the drill regarding cleaning pre-use and even some light filing work if necessary, but after these preliminaries what is your guys go-to ammo? Any suggestions to pick up (and especially any suggestions to avoid) would be gladly recieved, along with any other basic starter advice.
Thanks for your help!

I had several, don't have one any more as I did a purge BUT, mine worked well with any high velocity ammo.

In fact, I shot a rabbit on the run with Federal bulk pack & IIRC I had a older Bushnell 1.5-4x20 scope on it.

Maybe I should have kept that one. Dangnabit!

Cci ar tactical is the most consistent for me. Every .22 I have puts 10 into an inch at 50 yards. Awesome stuff. I've had similar results with remington subsonic.

All mine needed was a deep clean and it works like a clock. It has not been picky at all about ammo, cycles with everything I’ve put through it including CCI Quiet. 1300 rounds so far and not a single issue other than a couple dud rounds.

Glad to hear all of your feedback, everything I've heard up til now has been a split between these being a deal and buyer-beware scenarios. Did any of you need to clean the mag tube? and if so what was your method of choice

IMO, they are not very ammo picky for cycling. Mine even does CCI quiets. I have tried the "hotter" .22 rounds like CCI Stingers, Remington Yellow Jackets and Aguila Interceptors as well. While they all cycle just fine I find them to be hard on the rifle, like the barrel nut is loosening up, the action sounds "metallic" more than it should,..... I've settled with Federal 525s for plinking and a couple different kind of mini mags for hunting.

Yes, I've cleaned it all including mag tube and I've also deburred the follower. A small brush on a cleaning rod will work cleaning the mag tube.

Perfect I'll get right on that once it ships. Cheers and thanks again for the advice, I think I'll also steer clear of the high velocity stuff
