Not really sure.
Well I just ordered a JW-2000 from Frontier Firearms, the ones that come from the factory cut down to 12" barrels.

Looks almost identical to the Dominion Outlaws. Curious who all has experience with the JW-2000's and what to expect from them.

I just want a short shotgun that works without mechanical issues, hopefully it can fufill that need.

Looking forward to input on the matter. If your looking for the same thing, grab one quick, they have about 20 left.

Its going to be what its going to be.... a sub $325 Norinco shotgun, am I expecting massive quality and performance, perhaps not, the Dominion Arms Outlaw I had in the past had no issues at all besides the action being tight on opening after the firing process but not a massive ordeal, and overall I enjoyed it very much, Im sure I'll enjoy this one just the same, just have to play the darn waiting game now! :D

Friend has an outlaw, lasted for a little while, now it's sitting as a paper weight. The issue is the lockup got sloppy with use and the hammers won't #### if I remember correctly after some use. It's a $300 Chinese double, you get what you pay for and don't trust your life to it. It's a lot like a cracker jack toy, neat to look at, play with out of curiosity more than anything, but not to be used for anything real.

Spend the extra $100 and get a IGA Coach gun. Bought a Outlaw and it was fun but little probs made me not want to put it close to my face. It was safe but some of the probs made me re-think what else could go wrong if they screw up on the little things.

Ok thanks guys, what you figure would be a realistic (mild) round count life span before she gets all sloppy on me.

Already had an IGA-stoeger, nice gun, sold it.

I bought this one because noone else offers a gun with functional external hammers and 12 inch barrels.

My dominion has help up great. Slugs to bid shot, hundreds of rounds and still functions perfect. Only thing I don't like is that the triggers feel different from eachother.

Like my Outlaw on days gone by it wouldnt surprise me if it has a "Life-span" for a round count, maybe I'll just keep to using light loads with it to pro-long it, as with all firearms shooting the heaviest loads out of it 24/7 its bound to have parts fatigue at a faster rate thats for sure, but its the price that just cant be beat for what your getting mind you :D:dancingbanana:

Did you have any issues with it?.

It was a wee bit stiff on opening the action after firing, again I would probably deem that just because it only had about 5 rounds out of it to begin with, so probably just needed a few more rounds to soften up a bit, but Im going to go easy on this new Norc thats for sure, If i want a shotgun I can pound the bajeezus out of Id play with my Valtro :D

But its just something about the cool/fun factor with these itty bitty coach guns I have to hold higher then the 8.5" grizzlys thats for sure... but thats just me :)

In regards to you guys who have had them or have seen them fail - what was the nature of the failures? Were the guns repairable, or just kept as wall-hangers?

i picked one up from target sports for 330 tax in and so far i like it. though i've only put 10 rounds through it. going to put another 50 or so rounds on the weekend, all buckshot. some 3" as well. i've almost fully taken it apart. couldn't get a pin out so i stopped there.

but i have polished part of the hammers and sear, etc. the hammers feel a bit smoother now, but not as good as i would hope.

anyway to put some chokes into the gun? i want to take it bird hunting.

I got one delivered on Monday and the first thing I noticed was some serious rust pitting on the opening lever and side plates. On taking it totally apart (locks and sears) I was majorly disappointed with the machining and gritty rusty paste covering every bearing point in the lock up.I polished up all bearing places with 400 then 800 grit, lubed everything up and am now satisfied that I should get a decent life out of this firearm.
I've said on this forum before that I'd not buy a Norinco, but on seeing this sweet little gun I knew I wanted it,whoever made it.I hope that after I shoot it for the first time this weekend the fun I have with it makes me feel a little less like a whore for buying anything from the ChiComs.

I have the 20" barreled version. The internals are a 'little' rough, but a little sandpaper and grease fixed that. I have noticed that I have to go around and tighten the various screws after I take it out shooting. I suppose some lock-tite would fix that but I am leery of using that stuff incase I have to take the gun apart. But so far after approx. 500 rounds of all types I have had no problems.
