JW-25A, suggestions for an inexpensive scope?

Excuse the mess. I snapped them just now. Only downside is the scope is a touch fat for the rings. It'll need longer set screws when I remember them.

I have a nice little weaver, but the rings are too short. Dovetail risers are kind of ugly and taller rings (3/8"tube?? I forget..) are hard to find.

So... A Chinese copy of a Czech gun, disguised as a German rifle, with a Russian scope, a German blade, and a sling from India via eBay. And a PU scope cover from one of our CGN blokes :)

Mark-II, I definitely like your scope better. The Barska looks out of place. Where did you get the bayonet from?

Thanks everyone. I ended up picking up a cheap Barska 3-9x32 with some high rings. I decided against spending more than that as this rifle only needs to be able to shoot minute of pop can/water bottle.

Good! Thats what I was going to suggest. I cant believe how good the Barskas are for the money. Cant say enough good things about them. The one I've got is 3-9-40 AO and I like more than some of my scopes that were 5x more money.

Also, I dont know if you are the weekend gunsmith type, but there are so many things you can do with that action and trigger to smooth and accurize it. It can be every bit as good as the CZ.

I considered the AO version but was concerned the objective bell wouldn't clear the rear sight on this rifle. And to smooth things out I assume you mean go in with a file and take down any burrs and such? Or is there more that can be done?

Ya the usual stuff, strip it down. Make sure you buff the plate at the bottom of the reciever (above the mag) polish all the bolt surfaces. I also took about 3mm off the firing pin spring and did the trigger.
