JW15A-13"... Not a raging pile of ####

Funny, trying to locate compact scopes has been more of a challange than I thought it would be.Lots of stuff for attaching to rails and enhanced electronics, but what I wanted was a plain,4x scope with a small bell, such as the 7 1/2'' long 4x28 rimfire varmint scope Bushnell used to make...I see the odd one on E bay but they're all in the US....why there are import/export restrictions on stuff like this defies any logic when the same product is freely available, not restricted and legal on both sides of the border...what's next, slingshots?pea shooters?the problem is getting the beurocrat bean counters to remove rediculous laws once they are on the books

There seems to be lot's of small scopes made in China available but you might have to adjust the parallax your self.....?

There's a brand new still in packaging Bushnell 4x28 rimfire varmint scope on E Bay right now, with rings, for $42.....can't touch it,it's in the US....

I pried mine off with pliers and then had to clean up the hole with a drill because it had some material blocking it. Or you could do what others have said and buy new ones.
Same here.
I cut the loops off with bolt cutters, cleaned up the hole, works fine :)

Folks just recieved mine today because of these posts. Having hell of a time getting the bolt in.I slide it in pull the trigger it goes in about half way and can't get it all the way am I missing something

I went through the same thing, you have to rotate the bolt a little and it will work. I know my description is not the most helpful but some fiddling will make it work.

Right now the bolt is showing red for the safety . The bolt handle will not roll up so that it will slide in.Any othet suggestions

Hate to scope this unless I have too,it's just so compact the way it is,but I have to do something because I just can't use the iron sights.

Before I put a scope on it,has anyone installed a Williams WGRS -54 reciever sight on the rail? If so,did it require any fitting, and is the front sight high enough?

Bolt-yes,you have to rotate it or it won't go in.got to hold the trigger back too ,as I recall

The bolt comes quite tight and sticky. When you have it half in and it stops try t force the bolt up/open like if you were cycling the action. I had the same problem. Once you get it in, rack it lots to start the break in.

Hold the front of the bolt tight, lift bolt handle to #### it, insert bolt handle into rifle.
Bolts really should be stripped and cleaned prior to use....get all that nasty Chinese whale oil out.

My friend had the same problem with his savage 22-250,couldn't get the bolt to go in until it was cocked.Once you figure it out it's easy

Well i finally got it in the rifle. I had to use screw driver to half pry it out and move the handle into #### position. I oiled all well and now that it is in it is stiff to manipulate but seems to be better the more I work it..Thanks for any suggestions and help.

Mine was very stiff at first, I have put perhaps 350 rounds through it and it's smoothed out considerably.

Thanks for posting this, I just took my bolt apart and cleaned it using your guide. I even managed to reassemble it correctly!

Got a chance to take mine out today for the first time, trigger's a little rough but I wonder if that will smooth out after time.

The 5 round mag that came with it ran like a top. The two 10 round polymer cz452 mags didn't they wouldn't consistently feed properly, I might end up having to take a file to them to see if they work any better. All in all I'm pretty happy with it minus the feeding issues with the CZ mags.

I noticed similar issues with the polymer mags. It makes operating the bolt incredibly stiff. I'll see if I can file off some material, otherwise I know of a local dealer who can source some metal 10-rounders.

Yeah I'm hoping I can file them too, really don't want to replace the $80's in mag's I just bought lol

Had my 2 out today to zero, full size shoots just as well as the stump. I did not like the compact NC Star scope, it zeroed fine, but edges are very blurry, pretty much a cheap pile of Chinese crap for a score. I'll have to put a full size on it....

I hear you...I couldn't locate a Bushnell Varmint 4x28 compact scope so bought an older made in Japan 2.5 x20 Bushnell Banner off fellow gunutz guy on EE,it should be here just in time for my hunt

Try as I might,I just can't shoot with iron sights(including peep sights) anymore,so a low powered scope is what I have to use.I have a similar setup on my BRNO .A grouse head is pretty small target shooting offhand
