Who ordered the JW20 from canadaammo?I coun't resist the $125 price any longer,and plan on putting a TRS 25 red dot on it......if you have received your browning knock off,what are your conclusions-good,bad or indifferent?
 
I ordered the NS522 and at $199 it was just shy of the $200 free shipping mark, so I added the JW20 to the cart... With the free shipping, I figure that the JW20 ends up costing LESS than a hundred bucks! That's a DEAL!

I am also looking forward to what folks have to say about this Browning clone... Ratherbefishing, post pics of the mount and TRS25 on yours when you get it!

Truth be told,I really don't care much for semi automatics ,but for the $125 price,I couldn't pass it up and I already did have this TRS 25 looking for a home...all I want is'minute of grouse head'on this one so if it shoots accurately at 25 yards that's good enough.
 
I've seen a few video reviews, and read a couple of write ups on them. Consensus is that they're fairly well done and reasonably accurate. The main problem people seem to have is getting the Nornico-Goo out of the mag tube and all the fiddly bits, but other than that, good to go.

Kind of like the 1911's... Browning designed them so well, even Chinese slave labour can't screw them up.
 
I had one in the past. It was accurate enough for hunting and plinking, don't think I ever put it on paper though. It never failed to feed, fire or eject the whole time I owned it.
 
I got mine today. It is a nice gun, just one major issue.
I put in snap caps and when I cycle the bolt to load a round I get more than one round come out of the mag.
Some times 2-3 rounds, once I held the bolt back and all 11 rounds flew out all over the place, still can't find one.

Anyone got a fix?
 
Woody-to, did you take the gun apart & clean all the grease out of it? Guys are reporting that they are FULL of grease...

Yes, first thing I did. I stripped every single part and cleaned.
Only thing I can think of is the spring in the receiver that holds the feed ramp. It looks like acts as an interrupter but might be too short.
Anyone got a picture of the spring in the action? Mine protrudes only about 1mm into the feed ramp.

Edit: Did a bit more research. The little tab part in the top of the receiver is a cartridge stop. Will start to focus in on that. Got way more troubleshooting info when searching for Browning SA-22

So after hours of tinkering and testing I decided to try it with live rounds as apposed to the aluminum snap caps and had no problems. Took it out Sunday and it was pretty good, only a few minor issues that will work themselves out as it breaks in.

I did notice that the Cartridge stop wasn't traveling as much as it could. The part that is in contact with the cartridge was wider that the hole, I filed a bit off the back side and it travels about 1/16" more.

It passed the test, another ordered.

[/URL][/IMG] Cleaned all the Wonton Sauce out of her, polished the feeding ramp a little and she cycles great. Straight shooter. Good little grouse gun.

Well that's proof of the pudding-Minute of grouse head accuracy is good enough for me....I'm looking forward to getting mine,ordered it last week.I have to get a weaver 60 A top mount base so I can put a TRS 25 red dot on it...can't see open sights anymore
 
Maybe these have varied over the years.
Brought two into my shop; had to rework both to get them functioning well enough to keep them sold. Had to polish and deburr the feedpaths. Didn't sell any more.
 
Obviously if I had my druthers,I'd have bought the Browning,but for $125 I'll take my chances on their hit and miss quality control but even if I have to take it into my gunsmith for some tweaking,I still figure I'm still way ahead....besides this will be a walking gun,something that I'm not afraid to take out in the bush and get the odd bump.if it's functional and accurate that's good enough for me,but frankly,I couldn't pass up the $125 price tag,it's not a bad gamble
 
Being of easy persuasion, I ordered 3 of them. I am likely to keep one. If I have trouble, Deaner will take it home and make it work!

At $125, and with the 200$ mark for FREE shipping... And the NS522 being $199... I tossed the JW20 into the cart knowing it would end up costing me right around $100... Seemed like a heck of a deal to me!

I am in a pickle with this one. I am currently thinking of getting my first rimfire for plinking around outside. I have been looking at a Ruger 10/22 for awhile now, but for the same price I can get a NS522 and a JW20.

For fun and gopher hunting would it be better to just get the 2 from Canada Ammo? I do like the ability to upgrade and scope the 10/22, so I am not sure.

Any thoughts on this would be a great help!

I have a Ruger 10/22, and the NS522 & JW20 on the way... Does that help? HE HE

But seriously, the NS522 is likely the most accurate rifle of the 3... So, it depends what you want to do... The 10/22 is like the 1911 or AR15, there are LOTS of aftermarket parts for it... So... I'd say look at what you want the gun for & then decide based on that.
