JW25A (Mauser Copy) Scope Mounting

Question has anyone had any success mounting a scope on one of these? I've read a lot about people having to file down their front sight to make the front objective lens fit and I'm not about to defile (no pun intended) my rifle. I've considered see through scope mounts as it's more in line with period rifles but they are impossible to fine besides ali baba and eBay and mounting an old K series scope (something with fewer dials and such). But I'm open to suggestions!

Still lots of room to use the iron sights at the same time? What do you feed yours? I've heard CCI tactical works well and i've heard rumblings of Winchester but others have said no go on other CCI ammo as well.

I sold it a while ago. No way to use iron sights with the scope mounted as they weren't see through rings. It shot best with standard velocity ammo.
