Standard norinco quality. Machining is a bit rough but it works well. The wood is well done and overall I was satisfied with it. My only complaint was that I used all of the front site adjustment range and still couldn't get the windage correct and I had to set the rear sight to the 150 yard setting to be dead on at 25 yards. I'm sending it back due to that problem and hoping the new one is better. I didn't bench rest it but groups seemed decent.
I liked mine but traded it because I had the early model with the period-correct bent bolt handle and I couldn't scope it without ridiculously high rings to clear it.
I had one and really liked it, but had to sell to put the $ towards a youth-sized shotgun for the kids to use. It's very-much a full-sized rifle, and a bit on the heavy side as a result...but typical/rough-around-the-edges Chinese gun manufacturing. Wood was the nicest I've seen on any Norinco, maybe a little thick at the wrist. Shot well, very decent accuracy. Never felt the temptation to scope it, thought it would ruin the look. Worth what they charge for them, I just have too many irons in the fire to consider getting another at the moment. I'd like to though.
Oh...and my CZ452 mags (that fit well in my Norinco JW15-A Backpacker) were a tight fit in the JW-25. Fed well though.
2 things stood out on mine when I cleaned it up.....the exterior finish was pretty good, the bolt and interior of the receiver was really bad...wait for a sale, they are not worth the $250
