K-80 stock question

I came across a really good deal on a gently used (and very nice) K-80 stock and forend set that I have had fitted to my shotgun, but the problem is that I am left handed and the stock is cast for a right handed shooter.

I have consulted several gunsmiths about bending the stock, hot oil or otherwise, but have heard that a change in inletting by a knowledgeable person could solve the problem.

It's my understanding that the K-80 leaves the factory with a neutral (no) cast, and that it is then inletted to the desired cast of the purchaser.

Does anyone know if this is in fact the case, if so, can it be modified further, and what is involved?

If it's not possible, I'll go the bending route but want to rule out the potentially easier possibility.

K80 Stock

It is ture that it leaves the factory straight. I'm left handed and had a stock made to fit just me, but I have a spare receiver with a factory stock and an adjustable comb. In this way I can set the cast where ever I want to make it fit me. After that, I can't tell the difference between the two guns, nor is there any difference with my scores!

I am not a stock officionado but what I do know is the stock should be set with cast on for a lefty and if you have an adjustable comb it should be used for hieght adjustment and for minimal cast adjustments. If you need real good info you could call Mark Deprez at 585-346-2425.. Mark is a master stock maker and a nice guy. He will steer you right.
