Model 66 Brought Back by Smith & Wesson – S&W will be showing the new/re-introduced Model 66 Combat Magnum at the 2014 SHOT Show. The revolver will be built on a stainless steel K-frame and will have the same sights, look and feel as the original. Synthetic grips, not wood, are standard. I have a feeling this one will be a good seller for the company.

.... and according to another source with 4.25 " barrel.

The model 66 was produced between 1970 and 2005, a variant of the Model 19 ( 1957-1999 ). Very well respected hand gun and desired by many who follow the Smith and Wesson line. Now let's see how much.

i'm sure that will be a nice shooter particularly for 38 special.

wish they would make a version of the L frame without the lug. stronger frame for a steady diet of 357mag without any unnecessary front end weight. at least there is a new ruger that fits the bill

Nice, I love my 66 and it would be about perfect with a 4.25 barrel. I was thinking of cutting mine down from 6 to 4.25 but now I think I'll hold off.

I'm going to Shot2014 will have to see if the 66 is built to California barrel length ? Will be great for us in the North! Been looking for a smaller frame Smith for CDP.
Cheers Dale Z

It's already up on Smith and Wessons website. I don't think I'm supposed to link to a site like that though. If you google "Smith Wesson Model 66 news" it shows up near the top. Looks real nice, has a 4.25 barrel and it already has a SKU number so it's an item they're making I'd say.

They will sell a bunch in Kanada if we can get them up here. This one and the new 9mm with the 5" barrel will be in demand. Too bad they have the new action - I prefer the old K frame action, but beggars cannot choose.
