Are these a thing here in Canada? I heard some heresay back in 2014 about an NR version being in development/produced, only to die off thereafter. Any recent news, developments, links?

Yes. I think IRG submitted one around a year ago but it's still collecting dust in the lab.

There are several M17s in Canada though they may be the original Bushmaster models. They are non-restricted.

IMHO it ranks beneath the Type 97 on the aesthetics scale!

Yea those are the original ones. The newer tacticool one is still in the lab. I also have a type 97, I just need MORE bullpups.

IRG posted pics of the K&M M17 and I thought it was pretty sleek looking. If they get approved as NR I'll be definitely grabbing one as long as the price isn't completely insane.

That bolt release looks like it will engage on bolt hold open while still shouldered. I love it though

The K&M Arms M17s556 is still pending at the lab.

The Bushmaster M17s is non-restricted.

The lowers and uppers on the Bushmaster and K&M Arms versions are interchangeable.
