HITZY & SLAVEX:
As usual you have all your facts correct and have checked carefully before engaging your mouth....

Let me explain again, s l o w l y so you can read it and understand....
There were no banners available for well oever a year, period....

Recently we were advised that a small one was available, we signed up for it, just to make you happy we will rush the banner up....

HI YARO;
Perhaps I misunderstood what you put in our agreement....

You specified you wanted us to buy 800 units for this year, we felt that this was not realistic given how small the Canadian market is.

As you are well aware it would not be prudent of Marstar to invest in so much inventory which enjoys only a limited and specialized market.
Regards
John

Dear John,
I am sorry but I am lost for words,to see what you wrote. When I looked at our last communication, You - Marstar - offered that you will be able to sell 600-800 units per year(we wanted 1200 units) and at the end it was that you did not even take the amount of 500 pcs which was on the licence, which was valid until the end of year 2006,so we literally threw the money out of the window.
What´s more , 3 months before licence expiry date we wrote to you many emails with no response,we phoned you every other day to find out what to do next and your answer was always the same:we will send you an email tommorow- and we never received it.I had the feeling that I don´t make business with serious Canadian people but with some "bananas´" country who are used to say to everything MAŇANA(tomorrow).
So John, although I am very thankfull to you for introducing our pistols in Canada but I would appreciate if you could be objective and self-critical to resume our last communication
Kind Regards,
Yaro

Wow! Zing!

Hmm, while this is open discussion of what probably should remain behind closed doors, it does bring up some interesting observations and questions.

1) Nobody wants to be saddled with excess inventory, but how many sales are lost due to limited product on hand?

2) Most of our importers stock lines that might potentially compete against each other. In a perfect world, having the stock available in equal quantities allows the consumer to make informed decisions on purchases. The lines will sell in numbers appropriate to the publics perception of there quality and handling. How often are orders delayed to create a temporary void, promoting another line in the absence?

2(a) How often do out dealers miss out on ordering inventory, because there available capital is tied up with dead stock?

Makes you think eh??

IBTL.

"Wanted - distributor for high maintenance supplier. If things don't work out the way we want them to, you will be flamed on Gunnutz"

One of the most ironic and inappropriate threads I have seen.

From what I've read it's not an inventory or cashflow problem, it's a communication issue, or more accurately, lack of communication issue.

All I can say is wow. Airing dirty laundry in a public forum does not strike me as a particularly professional thing to do.

Dear Friends,in any case I did not want to wash dirty laundry in public forum. However I think I have the right to put situation in the right order,if someone is deliberately or not twisting the reality.
Best Regards

IBTL!

By the way, several times I almost bought a K100, but the models I wanted were always sold out at Marstar and they always had TONS of DAO pistols that nobody wants.

If you want to sell alot of K100's in Canada, stop shipping us crapy DAO law enforcement models and send us SA/DA pistols we can actually enjoy using!!!

I would own one if they were more readily available - even at the current price point which is high considering a glock is only a few more dollars and has higher resale here & lots of accessories.

Which brings something else up - don't just ship guns. There's no money in that. Look at Kodak. they practically GIVE you the camera, but rape you on the film. You should be offering holsters, replacement sights, night sights, extra mags, custom grips, etc.,etc.,etc.

Follow the dollar ;)

AND DROP THE DAO MODEL FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE - or at least stop shipping as many as you do to Canada. Police here carry only Glock, S&W and SIG. While the wisdom of those choices is open to debate, it's not going to change any time soon as the guns are all recently bought. For now, build your product by selling models recreational shooters want to own.
