I am in the US and Greatly looking forward to the import of your fine K100 and it's other versions of fine unique semi-auto pistols. I guess I'll need to wait for awhile until .40 caliber models begin arriving here in the US(I prefer .40's)....and your government gives its approval to export them.

My question was asked by a few members of another gun forum( glocktalk.com ) from something written on the K100 website (I believe). And is what is meant by "short lower recoil" ?

I think I understand myself, but would you kindly explain what you mean, so I can pass it along to them, please?

Gratefully,
dS

Not sure how you ended up posting something here... this is a forum of gun enthusiasts. You might be looking for www.marstar.ca

I'd call them before emailing though... from experience, they are not good with email.

I assume he's trying to contact CGN Member K100, the designer of said gun.

(Who apparently was reading the thread at the same time I was)

To answer his question "short lower recoil'" probably refers to the lower felt recoil due to the rotating barrel. This is true.

I'm not from Canada, but I AM an avid gun enthusiast and user, licensed to carry concealed.

And yes, I was trying to ask Mr. Kuracina (aka. K100) about something others say they saw on the Grand Power s.r.o. website(I believe).

Mr. Kuracina, it's good to hear that you now have FTA approval, and soon your governments permit!
Will any .40 calibers be coming soon to the US, Sir?

Twoguntim,

I posted this on the Glock forum:

"short lower recoil"?
"I'm not sure were you read that. But if you saw that on the K100 website, I'll ask him that question on the Canadian forum. But I think he was trying to say that the "travel" of the rotating barrel when fired is shorter or less than most other semi-autos, and the rotation also causes a lower(lesser?)amount of felt recoil and muzzle flip".

Seemed pretty obvious to me, but I told tham I'd ask him the question. And pass on his reply, if he would be kind enough to give them one.

(thank you about the US importer www.rguns.net...., I contacted them at least 2 weeks ago about .40 caliber K100s. They said they guessed they come into US sometime in mid 2008)

Yes. its true. .40 is not actualy at the plan of produstion. we are overloaded by production of 9Luger.
I dont understand corectly what you mean "short lower recoil"? english is not my mothers language. But K100s have realy lowere and softer recoil in comparation with other system of locking the slide.
Yaroslav

Fat chance on that.... I asked at IWA about .40S&W and I was told it wasn't even on the drawing board.

k100, Sir....I give you my sincerest apology.
It was pointed out to me by another member of the Glock forum that it was actually me that had made that "short lower recoil" statement in a much earlier post there promoting for fine pistols. I didn't mean to say anything about "short" recoil.

Your English is fine, Sir.
I apologize for thinking it was your website that said it.

I'm saddened by the fact that .40s won't be produce for a long time. I have 10 really good pistols(.40 and .45 calibers) from different countries and chose .40 cal. long ago, because I liked higher caliber and all the equipment to reload my used ammo brass casings. I Truly would like to be at the head of the rguns list when they come into the US. I am very, very impressed with your excellent K100 semi-autos.

Best wishes, Sir

I will wait, and look forward to a .40 K100 someday.
I use .40 cal. for the same reason that All the law enforcement agencies in the US are(or have already) converted from 9mm to .40....for a little more takedown power. I'm licensed to carry a conceal firearm and have always wanted that also.
