K31 and 1000 yards

I just got back from the Burns Lake 1000 yard shoot.Really good shoot they put on,and of course good group of shooters.

My only claim to fame for that week end,or more like a personal accomplishment,was to shoot 1000 yards with my k31 and ball ammo.No scope,or fancy sights,as issue only.I know how it shot at 100 yards with ball ammo( 1.5 ish for five shots ),but at a 1000 with open sights........hummmmm

Sighting in day took me a touch,but after 15 rounds,a 1000 meter setting on my sight and my Aiming point was the centre of the target,my first 20 inch,3 shot group was born.Fast forward to today's shoot for score,it was 18 and one half inches for three shots.

These rifles are just wow!!!.......

I've had similar results with mine. They are great rifles for $300!!!

Its one of the rifles ill never sell.

I shot a Friend's K31 a few years back at our range, and took it out quite a way. I think to 900.

First off,my sights were just stock.I would of liked at least a skinny front sight,but for the time at hand just bone stock,no paint.And as for my eyes......well......without my glasses would be impossible to see any definition of a target!!

where can I pick up a good K31 and cases of GP11 in Canada? Haven't seen it.

Have always been intrigued by this rifle.

I was at the shoot and saw oops shooting, he does very well with the rifle. that's great shooting when you consider the sights were issue military. Great barrels on those rifles.
