K31 Charger Solutions...

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone here has come up with an inexpensive way to quickly charge the K31? Is there another stripper clip that is compatible? Something seems wrong about paying 10-15 bucks for a disposable paper/tin charger...

Not disposable. Really last very well indded

Mosin Nagant ones work. Ones that are too tight to be much use for 54R work especially well

Some of my 'tin and cardboard' chargers have been with me since 1989, and they get used a good deal in comps. Sure they bend crooked in a rush, but ten seconds later you've bent them back straight.

They are a whole lot cheaper than buying six or seven $75 magazines...

I read somewhere on the Swiss Rifle forums that Swede 6.5x55 stripper clips will work.

I've tried the Mosin clips, and found that I usually wind up shoving the clip into the magazine as well.

The Swiss did try Mauser-type stripper clips (you can see the notches for them in the receiver-again from Swiss Rifles forums) but elected not to issue them. Why, I don't know.

Not slagging on the Swiss Chargers but they seem really expensive and for the most part really difficult to find. I saw one fellow selling them at the last gunshow in Lethbridge for $85 with 6 old rounds and he would not part them out. 6.5x55 stripper clips sounds like an option, I may try searching for them. Has anyone here tried the 7.62 NATO Strippers? They hold five but maybe they would work?

I think Corvin arms is waiting for newly made polimer chargers to arrive soon. that are durable and have needed flex to them. price i think would be reasonable as far as i remember.
