k31 vs mosin vs svt 40

Go Mosin first. Learn to appreciate the beauty of its rugged simplicity. A .22 won't be very exciting after a few hundred rounds of x54 though....;)
SVT-40...meh, not a fan. Lot of horn tooting about them. But the design and feel of them leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.
The K31, well....its a real jem.

I have all 3, if I was forced to keep only one I would have to say the k31. It's such a nice rifle and so accurate. That being said I still love my mosin and svt

My order would be k31 svt40 an then mosin nagant. I actually have 2 mosins, a 91/30 and a couple weeks ago just picked up an m44

Give it a few years and I'm sure you'll own all three so i wouldn't stress too hard over which you get now

Personally I don't like my SVT40 , I find it is just not accurate out to 160 yards , perhaps it has been shot out before I got it..

Neither of mine were accurate when I got them. 6" - 8" at 100 meters. Now they're both down to 3" - 4" and one has a good bore the other is terrible. The pressure point on these rifles is where your barrel band is. If that area is loose, you will experience poor accuracy.

Not that complex, if you can field strip it you can put it back together. I never found it much more rig-a-morole to strip than an sks, just a couple extra steps.

They're not that bad indeed but a new gun owner buying their first gun may find it complex for a while until they get use to it.

I love the big round of the 7.62 x 54r. I have a svt-40, 2 mosin nagnt 91/30, m38, m44. cleaning the mosins is probably the easiest rifle to clean especially wth that corrosive ammo. But the svt-40 just has the edge in the fun factr.
