This may be a bit newbish of a question...

But in my israeli k98, will using .308 180 grain soft points have a big difference in point of impact over standard milsurp 7.62nato rounds?

Just wondering what to expect and if i should adjust my aim accordingly next time I take her out if perhaps all of a sudden im wondering why my bullets are impacting different areas.

Also, Im guessing there might be a difference at longer ranges? 100m-300m max is all i shoot, open sights, the latter having alot of luck to do with with my shoddy eyes.

When I hunted with my Israeli K98, my POA was about the same with 165 Winchester Silvertips as when I plinked with Portugese 7.62 Nato surplus. It will depend on how hot the .308 ammo is loaded to determine the difference in POA. Time to hit the range!

Yah the best way is trial and error on paper, but just wanted a heads up. i know some of you crazy mathmetician types here will take the velocity, grains, windage and drop and come up with some fandangled numbers for me.

The only way to get consistency is to load your own. One box of commercial ammo will vary from the next, even ammo from the same manufacturer.
