K98 All matching RC?

msnacks, if the serial number is on the butt stock, and electro-pencilled on the bolt, those are Russsian force-match numbers. Not german.

It's possible to have an all matching RC in regards to Russian added serials but to have a RC with all matching German numbers is highly unlikely. Possible, but the odds are not good.

I believe there are some matching russian captures but are typically seen in terrible shape as Vietnam bringbacks. And even all of them aren't matching.

I don't there is an all matching German RC out there - but never say never.

Electro penciled force matched - Yes - the majority.

I know lot's of guys especially with the late 1990's and early 2000's imports in the US/Canada would MM pieces to at least have the proper codes or period correct parts on their rifles - someone on the old G43 forum even offered this as a service. But the chances of getting an all matching one would be very hard - even with mixing parts.

Now all matching Norge captures - they are out there for sure. Some are MM and they all have a new 30-06 barrel but generally the parts are all matching.

Some RC's went through more of a refurb than others. Some maintain original finish, some have original finish under the RC dip blue, some just have the dip blue finish. Some stocks are way nicer than other (not sanded etc.), some have X's and some don't, some are peened and some none peened etc.

No such animal, I don't think.
If the rifle is identifiable as a Russian Capture(x marks, electro pencil, shellac stock and Russian black dipped metal) it has been torn down and reassembled with mismatched parts already.
That being said I have seen a few German K98k's that came out of Romania that were matching except for bolts but in hard shape otherwise.

RC does not equal to Refurbished. They were not refurbished right after the WW2. Having said that - most of RC mausers were eventually refurbished and you have better chances finding original matching examples here or abroad.

wonder if the russians have any that are still in on peice, all matching examples. That would be something if suddenly some were found and imported here to Canada
