K98 almost matching

I an wondering what the value would be. It is a 1939 date masuer '42' k98 waffen 63, all parts match except the front nose stock cap and the stock. When I got her she was sporterized, The original stock was present but cut down, It also had the matching serial number stamped inside. I saved the bubba stock since it was the original. I then needed to aquire a stock which I was able to find for $60 which had the same waffen 63 marks as the rest of the rifle. The nose cone is numbered wrong but what are the chances of finding one marked the with the correct numbers. The bore is also in good condition. Even the screws are marked!

I am not a k98 guy and am more into the axis pistols but could not let this go once I saw her! Any ideas as to value for this nice find?

What a beautiful rifle! Early non-capture k98 rifles are difficult to find in matching condition. Good work on putting her back into it's original configuration. Too bad about the stock, but when I see non captured k98s that are totally mismatched selling for $500 you have done excellent. JMHO, congrats and thanks for sharing:D Love seeing these k98s!!!

Bolt mismatched rifles tend to go for a little more than stock mismatched rifles but you still made out like a bandit for $225. I would say you could sell it for around $5-650 likely. Nice rifle, love that patina!
 
Nice K98! Any idea where the stock came from? It almost looks like it had gotten the Russian treatment. My SVT-40's stock has the same look. I have a couple of nice RC K98's in my collection. I would value yours in the $500 to $600 range IMHO.
 
At The Soldier Shop in Calgary, around 1991-1995, it was common to find a K98 in the racks with an all matching bolt (same as receiver) and mismatched stock for around $140 to $175. Others with mismatched bolts were about the same price, not sure if the stock matched on them.
 
Looks a lot like a Russian capture K98 (even though yours was Bubba'd), and Frontier Firearms in Saskatchewan was selling them awhile back for $399. Most RC's are lacking the front sight hood, cleaning rod and trigger group set screws, at least you have the screws. Personally, if that baby was mine, I'd source out the sight hood and cleaning rod (Numrich.com is a good place to start), and completely strip off that ugly (Russian) shellac and refinish it with TruOil. That would really improve the value and looks of your K98-it's nice too that it has retained crisp model stampings, (not electro pencilled) and the metal is blued and not painted like the ones that underwent Russian "refurbishment".
You have a nice example of the Wermacht's workhorse there, I wish it was mine!
