K98 ammo

8x57 mauser 'aka' 8mm mauser......Im gonna guess 'surplus' FMC/FMJ around .70 a round + - Hunting grade ammo 17.00 + a box ( 20 rounds )
 
Jennis, It might also be 7x57 or 7.65x53, 30-06 or 7.62x51.

There are probably even others, but the above mentioned as well as the 7.92x57 are all common calibres in the K98 and its clones.

'timber' 'bearhunter' brings up a good point, with millions of these rifles having been produced it could be anyone of an assortment of calibres, post war 'refurbs', might be best to let a gunsmith look at it before buying any ammo....it 'may' be stamped with the cal. on the recever/barrel I have a Israeli K98 stamped 7.62 but one never knows......:)
