Hello all, bought my first Milsurp in January, FINALLY got out with it.

-K98k, 8mm, Yugo, non matching.

Unfortunately, EVERY shot was a fail to eject. But did extract excellent.

The ejector blade is coming through the bolt face plenty (in my experience)
Unfortunately I cannot post an image.

And the 1 maybe 2 shells that did eject were very lazy and more or less rolled out the gun, even after I SLAMMED the bolt back.

What I did notice is I had a better chance knocking the spent shell loose from the extractor jaw if I put side load on the bolt..toward the handle? The bolt does seem sloppy when fully out but I chocked that up to age/quality of manuf. at the time.

Bolt suppose to be lose when fully extended, that's not a defect. You probably need new extractor that keeps tension on the brass against bolt's face..
These are bottom of the barrel rifles. Mismatched bolts are the reason why they should be avoided.
Ammo rim thickness can also play a role in this as surplus ammo rims may be thicker than what you are using?
May be try different brand of ammo? I have some S&B brass that rims are so thick that I can't close my bolt on them. Ok in M48 but no go in RC k98.

I had a M24/47 which did the same thing. I ended up selling it as a cheap gun though, never did fix it. What I always figured was happening was the brass was falling off the extractor before it could reach the ejector. Likely would have to replace the whole extractor to get it to work.

Sounds like if the extractor is holding onto the rim without a problem, the ejector spring is probably busted. If you take the bolt out you should be able to feel the ejector spring back into position when you press on it, if it is loose then you gotta get a new one.

Also, if you are too lazy to find a new one like I was. You can take a couple millimeters off of a spring from a clicky ball point pen and insert it into the ejector mechanism and it will be back to full operation.

If it may be a brass thing then I'll try something else. Found some S&B and Hornady

This was with 1951 surplus a friend had kickin around.

We did make some dummy rounds and it flings those F'ers across the room. Even with the 196gr projectile still in it.
