K98 in 8MM Kurz/7.92X33

Good luck finding one of these K98's. The 7.9x33mm or "Kurz Patrone" was adopted late in WWII & Mauser/Oberndorf made only a small number of them. It was developed for use as an intermediate assault rifle cartridge, but was never put into widespread use.

Not sure I agree with you there, unless you mean the bolt action rifles. About 450,000 Stg44 assault rifles were built before the end!

And the MP43/MP44/StG44 family of assault rifles were in use up into the 90's in africa (and possibly still are today).

Aparently Marstar has millions of rounds of 7.9 kutz in warehouses overseas.

Canada will not let them import any because of some unacceptable levels of mercury or lead or something like that.

I have seen 2 over 40 years of looking at milsurp. One in the US, and one in BC. The BC was unfired, asking 10K. This was 2 years ago, I thought the price was exorbitant, but with the trend in ever rising prices, who knows. Who would have ever thought that $200 Lever No.4 Mk.1T's would sell for $4000!

I have only held one, it was about 10 years ago, Proline Shooters in Calgary had it, and if I remember correctly, it went to a German collector overseas.
