K98 Questions

Hi Folks,

Just a few quick questions, how rare are dual maker code K98s such as a BCD/AR? and is it worth it to look for one even if its a Russian capture? Or would it be worth it to look for an early stamped k98 (1936-39)? Also, what does an X stamped on the reciever mean?

BCD/AR rifles are quite rare but unless it is a matched example, the collectability of the rifle is negligible IMO. Chances are if it is an RC, the only part original to the BCD/AR rifle is the marked reciever anyways. Collectibility is in the eye of the beholder though.

I believe that the "X" stamp on the side of the receiver is East German
