k98 scope info needed.

Was going through the rest of my great uncle's items and came across this scope. It is marked Z.F. 41/1 and appears to be a scout type scope. The reticle is a post with two horizontal lines. It is stamped dym on the scope and the mount has a eagle stamp, duv stamp, and a JZ with a coat of arms. The optics are perfect and it appears to be 2x magnification. There is a bullet drop dial on the scope which goes from 1-8 which I think is 100 to 800 meters. The serial number on the scope is 527 and the mounts serial number is 2115. On the back of the mount facing the shooter it says K98K-Zf.41 It is in very good shape or better, no scratches on the glass and the blueing is very good with no rust. The top of the rings have 15 electropencilled on them.

I am looking for any information on this scope as I have never seen one before and an approximate value.

I would think at least $500. Look on Ebay, I've seen several for sale there. Nice find. Mark K

yep, condition looks good, has the mount on it, just missing the base that goes on the rifle, id say about 400-500 USD, if not more.

The zf41 scope was also used on the German G41 rifle for a short time, but on a different mount that fit on 2 rails.

$400-500 is optomistically LOW. Last few I saw sell on the bay were more like $800 USD. Never underestimate the price stoopid American Nazi collectors will pay for anything "legitimate Nazi Sniper".
