I've just bought that fine rifle from TradeEX and wanted to know what is the best way to refinish the stock like original rifles were.

I was planning to remove as mush grease and dents (rag/water/iron) as possible and refinish with linseed oil.

Here are some pictures ! Bore looks brand new. (Rebarrel ?)

The rifle is the way it's supposed to be, a post war Yugo refurb. Refinishing the stock or modifying it will only hurt collector value.

It looks absolutely beautiful the way it is. Congrats on a fine K98k.

It looks pretty damn good. The butt plate is in great shape and has the sight hood.

Everything is indeed in great shape. Bolt was out for cleaning, but it's in great shape too.

Might just steam of the huge dents and leave it be like you guys said.
Wood looks a lot better on the pictures however. Quite bad in person, at least compared to all my other milsurp.

I just wiped mine down with turpentine and 0000 steel wool and followed with clean rags until the rags came away clean. Let dry a few days then hand rubbed in a few coats of raw linseed oil. Nice Yugo refurb of a German K98k. They scrubbed the maker codes from the receiver ring and replaced with the small Yugo crest. I have seen a few that still have the German year stamp left below the Yugo crest.
