K98 stock

I have a very nice 43 K98 with all matching metal but with no stock. Well actually I do have a stock. I think this rifle was one that Sears sold many years ago and the stock is a "sporterized" military stock. What I am wondering about is whether anyone here has put one of these in a Boyds laminated stock and if so how did it look? Does the Boyds stock look anything at all like the original? Were you happy with the install? I'm in the lower 48 and original stocks for these rifles have become more rare than hens teeth and aren't much when you can find one. TIA for any response. The Boyds I was referrig to was the military version.

Honestly, myself I would spend the time and money to get a proper period full wood military stock. All matching metal is very nice and it needs to be complimented with the proper stock in my mind. I feel no k98 or lee enfield should ever be bubba'ed but that is just my opinion. Do a nice online search everywhere you can even Ebay and you will find a stock. Thats what I would do myself but you can put it in whatever stock you want in the end really.

FWIW, Lever Arms now sells complete K98 wood sets, they look to be off demilled Yugo capture rifles, but in general look good from what I can see on their site. Now that Mario no longer sells stocks, these are probably your best bet.
