If anyone wants to put together an accurate, researched post for "What does No4 Mk1 mean?" or "what's my Mauser worth?", I'll be more than happy to put a Milsurp FAQ sticky in this forum.
How about thisn one Stevo...
Here's a pretty simple link to use, even for the novice Enfield collector...
Lee Enfield Rifle Markings (click here)http://home.earthlink.net/~smithkaia8/index.html
I've posted this one in almost every thread where the same question has been asked in the last year. It's not as detailed as Skennerton's "The Broad Arrow" markings book, but would probably take care of 90% of the questions asked over and over again in this forum.
The trouble is that many people love to answer these questions. I prefer the adage of "give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, but teach a man how to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime".
