i have a model 98 1941 nice stock barrel is good bolt is not matching what are they worth thanks

Ditto what Claven 2 posted.

There are at least five markings on a Mauser that distinguish it from any other Mauser. Year, maker, model marking, letter in front of the serial number, and serial number itself. The barrel length, stock material, butt-plate, bolt take-down plug, etc are all required elements for answering your question.

Now, the smarta$$ in me wants to say, "NOBODY HELP THIS LAZY BUGGER!" Buying a book will teach you to answer your own questions. And, the market value is of course completely arbitrary and situationally dependant.
 
As maple_leaf_eh points out, the book you need is "Backbone of the Wehrmacht". It costs about $100.

We need to know if the stock is original to the rifle. We need to know if the stock has cartouches or not. We need to know the WaA stamp on every single part. We need to know if there are any serial numbers stamped onto the outside of the stock, the inside of the stock, the inside of the handguard. Has the stock been sanded? varnished? shellaced? Is it early, mid or late war? Standard or kriegsmodel? White glue, red glue or walnut?

These questions are ONLY ABOUT THE STOCK. Five times more questions exist for the metal.

Any other quote on value is a wild-assed guess.

I know it's not what you hoped to hear, but the truth isn't always what we want it to be. So I say again, pics would help greatly. Borrow a working camera or go avail yourself of the great boxing-week sales ;)
 
I know zero about mausers so possibly should not comment but I can't believe that I am hearing this "go buy a book" theme. If all of us bought a book every time we needed an answer we wouldn't need this forum. It would also cut into our collecting $$$$ big time. New collectors or guys who have a rifle "passing through" their collection which is different sometimes need a quick answer or two. Once we have settled on a particular collecting area it will be time enough for the books. I have many books covering the 1700's and 1800's Canadian and British rifles and try to help here when I have an answer. I also need help with Lee Enfield era rifles and get it here. We have one of the best boards here to give advise and help others. The Gunnutz experts have a wealth of knowledge. Just an opinion. Happy New Year.

frig sakes i have own this riflre for 10 years i'm not going to sell it just want to insure it just trying to get a ball park figure didn"t know this was going to cause so much trouble so i won't use this site again for this

Right now the world is awash in Russian WWII capture Mausers that were re-built in the Ukraine and then stored forever in fine places like Bulgaria. Down here they sell for around $250 to $300. They have some issues, so they are simply a midpoint in the marketplace. Generally they do not have matching numbers for starters ...

All I can say is pictures are needed as well as markings,I do agree with the "car" comparison.
Again, if you have only ONE rifle it's better to ask others. If you have a collection, or are starting one, then buy books.
